Folks
Here is a very faded Kodacolor shot of Simmons Loop the year after it =
opened. I'm sure if I played with this in Photo Shop I could bring back =
the color, but this will do for now and will give you an idea of what =
the original 1953 loop and shelter looked like. That's the original line =
to Charleroi running left to right outbound behind 1724. The inbound =
side was part of the loop and the outbound side was a cripple track.
If this dratted program excises the photo, send me your email and I'll =
email it directly to you.

On the satellite view from Google maps, it's roughly the area =
surrounding
today's outhouse (the square green roof to the right of the missile).
Simmons was the original name of the former stop at Pleasant Street =
and was
likely named for the property owner who granted the right-of-way to =
the
streetcar company. There was no place actually named Simmons."

Hi, does anyone know where Simmons Loop was compared to the new LRV =
station
at Library? The few pictures available online don't show enough detail =
and
the USGS and period maps don't show the loop I have found. I'm =
curious, as I
believe the loop existed until 2004, but there doesn't seem to be a =
feature
called Simmons on the map.
Thanks
