I believe I saw some photos in the archives here showing the southbound
Charleroi diamonds still part of the loop trackage.  The northbound switch 
joining the loop was already removed.

Folks

Here is a very faded Kodacolor shot of Simmons Loop the year after it =
opened.  I'm sure if I played with this in Photo Shop I could bring back =
the color, but this will do for now and will give you an idea of what =
the original 1953 loop and shelter looked like. That's the original line =
to Charleroi running left to right outbound behind 1724. The inbound =
side was part of the loop and the outbound side was a cripple track.

If this dratted program excises the photo, send me your email and I'll =
email it directly to you.
