Ah, the Nickel Plate.   I remember the stories about how when they had a wreck, the road foreman of engines job was to get there before the ICC inspector to make sure that someone forgot to put a tape in the speed recorder.   

I was all set to go to Bellevue in 1958 with friends and my father told me I was staying home and studying for a change.  I never did see those monsters in service.
