[PRCo] NKP Steam pics

I photographed the last summer of NKP big steam in northeast Ohio in 1957.  See photo of 2-8-4 747 taken at Ashtabula, Ohio on 7/7/57 posted at http://www.rr-fallenflags.org/nkp/nkp747.jpg 



Many of the NKP 2-8-4 locomotives were scrapped at the Dietz Scrap Co. in Sharpsburg, PA in 1962, and I made   regular visits there  that year.  See photo of 2-8-4 738 at http://www.rr-fallenflags.org/nkp/nkp-s738.jpg   Pa. Route 28 is at the base of the hill in the background. 



Also in 1962, NKP 2-8-2  950 at Dietz was painted silver, re-numbered 1887,  and moved to a track off the PRR mainline  in Wilkinsburg, PA to celebrate the town's 75th anniversary .  See photo I took of NKP 950 in Wilkinsburg on 8/30/62 - http://www.rr-fallenflags.org/nkp/nkp-s950.jpg
