[PRCo] Route 44/48

So, what do we know about route 44/48?   Was a way to cover more territory before heading into town?  A Sunday only kind of thing?  I'm imagining it coming from South Hills Junction and heading up Warrington to Beltzhoover and taking fares on the 44 Knoxville tracks, then coming back down Beltzhoover and turning right UP Warrington and taking fares on the Arlington Avenue line before turning around inbound into town on Arlington/Warrington/tunnel/etc.  trackage?
