Rich

Wha a shock to get up this morning and read about the passing of your dad.  Robert and I

communicated for the last 6 years and enjoyed talking about the Valley and Pittsburgh.

God Bless you and your family.

Subject: [PRCo] Passing of Robert Rockwell

It is with sadness and regret that I inform the members of this list that my
uncle, Robert Rockwell, passed away on Wednesday, April 20.

Bob was born and raised in Lock Four.  He was a frequent participant in this
list.  Among his passions were PRCo, model trains, river boats on the
Monongahela, and history of the Mon Valley .  My last excursion with him was
exploring the route of the Westside line from Charleroi to Arnold City using
maps from Tom Phillips, another recently deceased PRCo contributor and Lock
Four native.  At Christmas time in 2009, I was honored to help deliver his
model of McKean Ave in Charleroi including Coyle Theater and trolley to the
Charleroi Area Historical Society.

He was a mentor and great inspiration to me in developing my interest in the
history of Charleroi, Lock Four, Carroll Township, PRCo and Eldora Park.  He
was the inspiration for and contributor to my Charleroi Interurban and
Eldora Park web sites and to our family genealogy and in developing my
interest in photography.

Viewing will be at the Schrock-Hogan Funeral Home in Charleroi and burial
will be at the Monongahela Cemetery on Monday.

If anyone would like more information or want to communicate with the
family, feel free to email me personally at rrockwell at comcast.net
