Very clear on that map and if that one is accurate, as opposed to the ERA map which you have now seen, that would be the final nail in the coffin for the mystery photo being at Mapleview.

Yes.Ã Yes.Ã Yes Mr.Long; I know why the car moves into the pocket
track.Ã Quite often a charter does that to prevent delays to the
service car.Ã I also understand when the charter goes from Charleroi
to Castle Shannon to Washington that the cars either back around
the loop or use the wye in the loop.Ã I haven't lived under a rock;
bumping my head on 80 I understand some things about transit.
Backing into the loop from the main is a little difficult isn't it; it is
necessary to nose the car into the street to clear the switch.
Enclosed is the drawing I mentioned from Mr.Phillips.Ã When I learned
of this list I was also told of Mr.Phillipsand we corresponded briefly.Ã While
compressed horizontally it is very clear the RR crosses on the prw
before the interurban moves into the street isn't it.

1614 was used starting from Washington interurban station.
1646 was added at Tylerdale because of overcrowding.
The cars went north to Castle Shannon, backed around the loop,
à and went south.à The procedure was reversed coming north from Charleroi.
Both 1614 and 1646 were backed into the Donora line
at Black Junction. This was to let a northbound service car pass.Ã
A maximum of two cars were used at any one time.
There was no charter on Washington local lines. If anyone on the trip did any
Washington local lines, it was either early in the morning before the trip
started or in the evening after it ended.Ã
The fot on the Elco loop shows the service car backed into the cripple
track to let a special, using a Jones interurban car, pass.Ã The Jones
car is on the inbound side of the loop. I do not know for sure if this
was the 27 July 1952 trip.Ã All I can say is that the Jones car is not
the 3761 on that day. However, it probably IS on that trip and
likely is the 3769, based on the fot at White Barn.Ã The adult facing
the car there COULD be John Baxterââ¬âthere is a definite resemblance
but the details are too murky to be sure. I canââ¬â¢t make out any other
identities in any of the other fots.Ã The last one is at a Nachod
controlled siding, somewhere between Charleroi and Elco.Ã
If we knew which sidings had Nachods and on which end,
we might be able to zero in on it.Ã The car appears to be southbound.
à Itââ¬â¢s definitely the 27 July 1952 tripââ¬ânote the front end details in
the right and center windows and the blank destination sign,
all of which match perfectly with the shot I took!
I was on this trip, but as related before, not on the Charleroi-Elco part.

Thank you, Mr.Long.
I am including a couple photos.Ã It is difficult to read the car numbers
at Elco but it "suggests" 3765.
The photo of 3769 at White Barn is the same date as the charter and
coincides with the information from Perc -- 1614, 1646, 3761, 3769
were all used on this charter.Ã Incidentally--this charter did go to
Washington then Shannon, Charleroi, Roscoe, then back to Washington.
I believe local revenue cars were used in Washington by some on
the charter.Ã Since this is a joint charter with Akron it is possible
4-cars were needed.
A third photo shows 1646 backed onto the Donora line at Black Diamond;
regular service car 4387 was used by those on the charter who wanted
to ride to Donora.
The 4th photo shows 3761 in "1952" so this may be the charter.Ã You
might identify individuals for us!
I need to tend to other matters.
