The Cyrillic text reminds me of a TV news interview I saw (probably in the 1960's) when the first Moscow-New York commercial air service started.  The reporter asked a person at Kennedy Airport about the lettering painted on the Soviet aircraft, and he replied that he couldn't read the wording, but it began with a "Capital 3".
