It wasn't stated in the book, so I'm assuming they remained maroon.  This
was an era when they had moved to orange on new cars, including the 3750s
(which were the first series delivered in that paint), and I found that they
actually painted two of the 3700s orange in 1928 (this didn't last long; the
first was re-done to red and cream in 1929 and the other the following
year).  But there is no evidence that they experimented with the color of
the Kuhlmans.

I don't think they would have looked good in orange!

I was in the paint book yesterday looking for something else and happened
upon some interesting information...four 3600s were painted in late 1926 and
one in August 1927.  So at least they looked nice when they were burned.

Nine of them were scrapped in 1928, one in 1927, eight in 1926 and two in
1925.  The 3750s ostensibly replaced them until the passengers howled about
the ride quality.  Then the company bought the 3800s and put the 3750s onto
city routes.
