This wasn't a strike by Railways employees.  The company shut down because
Duquesne Light couldn't assure them of a supply of power.  The interurbans
continued to run on the south ends, as far north as Canonsburg and
Riverview, because PRC bought power from West Penn in those parts.

Apparently Duquesne Light was striking and Pgh Railways followed suit.
Interesting article as it lists the last times each route would have a car
on the line prior to the start of the strike at Midnight.
