The NYC had a jet snow blower in the 1960s. Also a jet engine powered RDC that was tested on the mainline west of Cleveland. 



Attached is a photo I took of the NYC jet snowblower in the P&LE station in Pittsburgh in 1964. Note that it was outfitted with 8 large tanks for the jet fuel.
