When I opined on the subject, I did not have either the PERC nor the ERA PRC track maps at hand.

I clearly confused the Jane/Coal street loop with the one at Oakwood and Tioga.  That is where I believe the COT cars for the 87 were kept.  Of course, it could have also been used for the same purpose for the 76 and 88 as well.  The layout was quite flexible.

  Probably in later years, but my acquaintence with Jane St. was during grade school late 1950s.  It wasn't until some time after PAT takeover that 87 was diverted to Jane St and Trafford Motor Coach route took over Ardmore Blvd. service.  
   
  As for put on time vehicles, today it seems that additional layover time is built into the schedule.  I shouldn't have to mention what this does to operating costs.
