An excellent video. I remember Vic Cianca throughout the years I ran
trolleys. He spent many years at Ft Pitt Blvd and Smithfield Street. He
always seemed to slightly favor the trolleys on the Shannon routes coming
east on Ft Pitt. If traffic at Ft Pitt & Smithfield didn't move fast enough
then the backup would extend west on Ft Pitt with autos blocking the trolley
tracks for streetcars coming off Wood St. Vic always kept the traffic moving
so trolleys could make that left turn and he would move the Ft Pitt traffic
so trolleys coming from both Wood and Grant could make it onto the
Smithfield Street Bridge with not too much of a delay.
He was certainly a bit of Pittsburgh history.
