Mr.Barry & Mr.Brannon!
What do you note about the enclosed map? Did not
Mr.Brannon observe cables running up the hill /
mountain side? What do we see in the top right
corner running up the hill side? This appears
directly above "East McKeesport" does it not?
If any particular location remains upspoiled by humans
for 105-years we may be hard pressed to identify any
'nature photo' from 105-years ago simply because of
natural changes from rain, erosion, mud slides, forest
fires and other 'natural' calamities. Yet evidence now
is the strongest yet for the photo location being correct
isn't it. I can not say we can close the book on the topic
but the map suggests the photo may be labeled properly
in spite of our denial.
This was the "hunch" of Mr.Barry from the beginning.
Trolley line construction in 1906 would be in the amateur
category wouldn't it. Many double track lines began as
single track; in outer areas operations often began as
soon as rails were on ties but lacking ballast. Construction
on a shoe string was quite literal. PRC purchased / leased
lines already operational; some time later they upgraded.
Thank you for the map location Mr.Netzlof.
Mr.Brashear: Your mission (should you accept) is to locate
and photograph this area today. You are familiar with this
terriroty. Please note, however: We can not guarantee your
safety on this mission as "natives" are unpredictable, even
more so with nature. Good luck.
This message shall self-destruct--with time.
Phil
PS - yahoo does not support replies below quotes, but I found
a run-around which still requires significant reformatting to make
it acceptable.
