Only the locations changed during my 47-year career: New York City, back to Pittsburgh, then Cleveland, and for the past 27 years Chicago. And I enjoyed every minute of it.

You were one of the few, Bob, who worked in the same career you prepared for......
Advertising and journalism are not that far removed from each other. Â They all tell what they have to in order to keep your attention.
Seriously, you would need an excellent command of the language to dream up a productive advertisement and be able to sell it to the corporation who needs to market their product. Â And staying in business with a newspaper or magazine or voice media also requires being able to sell your product to the public. Â
I guess, Bob, I have become disillusioned over the years by the need to tell the public what the want to hear instead of the truth. Â I do not think I will every forget a BBC World News opinion statement several years ago to the effect that it matters not what you say on a news show, only that you shout louder than the opposing newscaster. Â
