There was no ridership between Hays and 36th Street. I believe the railways
ran a shuttle between 30th and 36th Street up to the end of the war. By that
time the J&L mill had been expanded and any homes in that area had been torn
down. At the war's end, a ride check was done of all the trips and it was
found out that no one was riding. A bus replaced the yellow car for a week
and service on the shuttle was removed when it was found that no one was
riding the bus either. I heard that one years ago from Art Ellis, a museum
member that started with that Railways in 1946.
