I know. Our infrastructure is hurting. Aside from public transportation, I haven't seen bridges and streets in the condition that they are in, in quite a long time.

There was a great young lady who worked for me. She left labor and industry and moved over to Department of Education to get a promotion. A few weeks ago I had lunch with her ... you know the kind ... the daughter you wish you had. Now she told me that they have not hired anyone in her department since her. It is always easy to find money to hire consultants to do the work but there is no money to hire people on the state payroll. Why? The consultants can be told to give money back to the reelection campaigns if they are hired but you cannot legally torque an employees arm.
