My mistake Herb in using the word always twice.   A proof reading gremlin ...

I meant were the 1700s used on Arlington "always" or "only subsequent to PAT's purchase of the property in 1964?"   

I think you might be talking about PAT and I am talking about both Pittsburgh Railways and the Port Authority.

Let's rephrase it.   Were the 1700s used on Warrington - Arlington typically after PAT assumed control or at all times since their delivery in 1949 to Pittsburgh Railways?

When did you live in Pittsburgh?   What years?   And what years did you work for Pittsburgh Railways?   What years did you work for PAT?
