Prc had a clean slate and empty pockets void of reputation.
Did they then do business on the "good name" of the company?
If I interpreted the drawings correctly (and I shall hear about it if
I haven't) it seems that 3-new turns were built: 2-from Tunnel to
W.Carson and the turn from E.Carson to Tunnel.  Much but not
all of the intersection was rebuilt as well:  the tangents crossing
Carson, the double track turn from the bridge to W.Carson, and
the double track turn from E.Carson to the bridge.

It seems 3-existing points and mates and one crossing were not
rebuilt.  I need to study this further.

Thank you for the drawing and the many facts and explanations.

Phil

Tom Fitzgerald was a vice president of the Philadelphia Company and General
Manager of PRC prior to the receivership, in which he became the operating
trustee.  The underlying companies were finally and completely extinguished
when the company emerged at the end of 1950.  PRC then had no debt, no cash
and no credit to go along with its new president.

Thank you, Mr.Lybarger; this is an interesting explanation as well.
This was also done by the Trustees under bankruptcy.  Before the bankruptcy,
was Mr.Fitzgerald employed by Prc or an independent contractor who did work
for the company?
It is interesting to note the underlying companies listed.  It seems the
bankruptcy eliminated the strangle hold on the railway.  Just from memory,
please, it is only a curiosity item:  I assume the underlying companies are
not listed on drawings after the bankruptcy?

Attached is PRC Track Sketch 49-019, which I copied (unfortunately
title-less) this morning.  It indeed covers this job, and indicates that the
work was closed on the books May 14, 1949.
Since they would have had a major street dug up, I doubt they would have
dawdled, and it would have been a Spring 1949 thing.
Has anyone given a thought to its purpose being easy access from Tunnel to
Ingram so they could move cars for scrap there more expeditiously?  We don't
have access to the books to know its cost, but it was quick and dirty and
would probably have cost a lot less than the platform time of a multitude of
operators who had to go downtown to turn around.
