Paczki's are a popular pre-Lenten  treat here, and Chicago bakeries make them fresh in their stores.  They are huge, available in 12-18 fillings an d  sell for $1.50 to $3.00 each depending on the filling .

We do not have Giant Eagle here, but we do have Super G Giant, not the same 
company, I think. 

At any rate, these were not made in the supermarket (SuperFresh) bakery but 
rather by some outside vendor with a Polish name and were just being sold by 
SuperFresh.  I think it was an experiment as I had never seen them before 
nor since.  They were on a close out rack at 50% off.
