My recollection of the four-eyed autos is that the delay in universal
application was more on the part of the auto makers than any state law.
Pretty hard to put out something that would not pass muster in any state,
unless that state were Alaska or Hawaii. More a case of "Monkey See, Monkey
Do," or "Keeping up with the Joneses" than a matter of state law. For
example, a 1957 Ford had single headlights; a 1958--just a warmed-over 57
body--had duals.
As to the cemeteries being empty, who took all the remains? And aren't many
tram museums graveyards for trams?
