Some additional comments on the lanterns in the photo:

I have a collection of 27 railroad hand lanterns.  The metal tops on all of them are stamped with the railroad s' initials, and some of their glass globes have the railroads' in itials etched in the glass.  An exception is the PRR lanterns - their glass globes are etched with the PRR keystone.

I have a few marker lanterns, and they also have the railroads' initial s stamped on the metal tops.  The exception is my black marker lantern that supposedly came from an interurban trolley in the Butler area - no rail initials are stamped on the metal top.  And, none of my marker lantern s has railroad initials etched in their glass lenses.

Also, the hand lantern to the right of the man's arm in the photo is called a construction lantern. That type was not not generally  used by railroads, and instead they were usually  found on saw horses marking construction sites, and on farms.

Hello. Is anybody on this list a collector of lanterns or
know anything about lanterns? My question is, with
regards to the attached photo, did PRCo mark their
lanterns and globes?
Thanks  Ray
