Derrick found this on-line when I could not. It is the Post Gazette story on the North Shore light rail opening on Friday with yours truly tripping over the mayor and the county executive boarding the first car north out of Gateway station.

Sometimes in our lives there are rather serendipitous moments. I remember back 20-some years ago finding myself seated next to the wife of the Archbishop of Canterbury at St. Albans, Cathedral. This time I found myself seated next to a very dignified old lady --- the former mayor of Pittsburgh (1888-1994) --- 95-year-old Sophie Masloff (1917- ). Apparently it was Sophie who suggested separate stadiums for both the Pirates and the Stillers so I guess she belonged on the car to see transit to those venues.
