That is not so far fetched. Every photo Iâve seen of a Harmony Route interurban, even of the Gunboats, shows a combination car. A bicycle could easily have been stowed in the baggage compartment. Also, Harmony cars were two man right to the end so there was no problem with sufficient âperson powerâ to hoist a bike up into the baggage compartment and to lower it back down to the ground. Probably even a small motorcycle could have been accommodated. But Iâm assuming that Derrickâs bike is a pedal bike, not a motor bike.
Perhaps Derrick will tell us more about his rides on those cars. Before my time, unfortunately, although Iâve seen plenty of remains of the line.
