In response to another member, I sent the message which I have copied below, which may be of some interest to the group (if ecartis does not abscond with the photo—I sent it directly to him in order to ensure the photo was left in the message):

<<Here is the ONE Rt. 2 fot I ever took. The date is 28 July 1952 and it is at Etna loop. Sorry there is some damage to the negative in the lower corner. This could be removed with Photoshop but I don’t have time to fiddle with that now. The device with the shroud to the left is the road roller that recently (at time of fot) had compacted a layer of asphalt around the loop for bus operation which was imminent.

I rode Rt. 3 earlier in the year but did not have a camera with me, so I have no photos of that route.
