[PRCo] PRCo Armed Motormen

There is no record of their doing so in any of the material we have.  It
would not surprise me if this article was a red herring to deter would-be
robbers; on the other hand it could be 100% true.  We do know that the folks
in M1 (pay car) were armed; I've seen one of the guns (owned by a collector)
stamped "PRCO").

PAT never seriously considered arming operators; after one was killed in a
holdup, they discontinued carrying money instead.  Sorry, gun advocates
everywhere, but the more guns that are available, the more people are apt be
killed or injured, and they didn't want to take the chance.

PRCo's police force is something we rarely hear about.  There is a (posed)
photo of one man on a motorcycle pretending to apprehend a youngster
stealing rides on the back coupler, but beyond that we have nothing.

Ed, I guess you will probably be the only one who may be able to answer
this, did the company actually ever arm PRCo operators?

Anything in your files regarding this? Also, did PAT ever consider arming
its operators? Are PAT employees allowed to carry if permitted?

Any idea what kind of police force PRCo had?
