Here is an update.
As many of you are probably aware by now, Northern Ohio Railway Museum has
been donated 3 historic railcars from the RTA, cars 12, 109 and 024. For
years car 12 was Cleveland's fantrip car. In later years, car 109 was also
used on many fantrips. Now we need to move them and pay for that moving,
$12,000 worth! We want to get the word out to all area rail enthusiasts and
hope that they will support our mission of keeping Ohio's rail heritage in
Ohio. Recently another part of our heritage, trolley car 1218, was rejected
by another prominent Cleveland area institution. This was the car that was
destined to be displayed in University Circle. Today that car is Illinois.
We need the support of all of Ohio's rail enthusiasts in order to keep our
heritage here. I should mention that other out of state museums were asking
about these cars including one Illinois institution that was formally
requesting them also. Our thanks to RTA's administrators who also believed
in keeping Ohio's heritage in Ohio. The cars will soon be moved by the RTA
to another facility on the Rapid from the Central Rail shops where they
presently are. This other site is where they will be trucked out from. Bids
from Silk Road Transport are in and formal fundraising efforts are
beginning. We need to raise $12,000 for moving costs. As of today $2,100
has been raised and that was essentially by word of mouth. We ask for your
support.

Thank You.
