Point Bridge to be removed within one year of completion of the Fort Pitt Bridge. Well it was more like 11 when the Point Bridge finally came down in 1970.

In this 1957 Penn Pilot photo, you can see the piers for the Fort Pitt Bridge in the water and the Parkway West construction on the west side of the tunnel.http://data.cei.psu.edu/pennpilot/era1960/allegheny_1956/allegheny_1956_photos_jpg_200/allegheny_050757_aps_4r_36.jpg
1967 Same view--changes- Fort Pitt Bridge is open, Fort Duquesne is still the bridge to nowhere, Civic Arena has completely changed the lower Hill. Allegheny Center construction has completely changed the North Sidehttp://data.cei.psu.edu/pennpilot/era1970/allegheny_1967/allegheny_1967_photos_jpg_200/allegheny_052667_aps_1hh_153.jpg
