[PRCo] Fighting Crime On PATransit

He was a "public defender". He thought he had a quick ticket to spring
those two little "tarts" by making me sound guilty of something.

It was kind of a surreal moment in the courtroom when he asked the question
of me. The whole room, which was packed to standing room only, became
silent and I could tell "all ears" were waiting for my answer. I just had
to go with the moment with a little (just a little, NON-overt) drama. So I
looked the defense attorney in the eye as he asked the question (with a
little smirk on his face I might add), "how did you know it was marijuana?"
Then I looked, just for a second, at the PATransit attorney, then at the
City Attorney.  The silence in the room was to be believed and "my moment"
had arrived. I then said, "I knew it was marijuana because, before moving
to Pittsburgh, I was a police officer for the City of Akron, Ohio and drug
identification was thoroughly taught to all officers in the Akron Police
Academy." This was not the answer the defense wanted to hear. He threw up
his arms into the air and had a look of defeat on his face. His smirk was
definitely gone. The courtroom (packed to the gills like all big-city
arraignment courts) burst into Ohs, ahs and laughter.

Smoke your weed at home, not on my bus !!
