Derrick,
I think the South Side Giant Eagle has the best selection of products. That
store serves a much more diverse group of customers so, not wanting to miss
a dollar in sales, stocks the shelves for maximum profit. It's my number
one choice. Not that hard to get to from my place. Four blocks north on
Brownsville, right on Becks Run Road and all the way down the mountain to
Carson, left on Carson (the really good frozen custard place is on that
corner) then down to 20th and a right turn down to Giant Eagle. If traffic
is standing still around the Birmingham Bridge I have been known to go
right off of Carson onto the Hot Metal Bridge, over the river, left onto
2nd Avenue, left onto 10th Street Bridge, left onto Muriel, go up to 17th,
make the jog to Wharton and up to the store. Sounds long, but it's not. I
wish they had built a street under Birmingham Bridge to take some of the
through traffic off Carson. Like you said about the police nailing someone
at the store parking lot........that's the reason I call it the "exciting
Giant Eagle".

Yes, Darla Zeli is my State Farm agent also.

I refined that "East Carson Street Rule" to read, "stay east of Birmingham
Bridge" on Friday and Saturday nights. I've never had a problem.

Bob R,
There are three Giant Eagle stores I go to, Brentwood Town Center, South
Side and Waterfront. I have given each of them names suited to how they
appeared to me the first time I set foot in each of their doors (i.e. First
Impressions). Brentwood Town Center is a big store but not much in the way
of choices, always has all White customers and employees, and the parking
lot has a lot of high dollar SUV's parked in it. It instantly became the
"Republican Giant Eagle". South Side GE has a very, very diverse group of
customers and employees, has products to suit the tastes of all those
diverse customers and has a lot of "exciting" things going on in or near
the parking lot. Hence, it is the "Exciting Giant Eagle". Waterfront GE in
Homestead is in the very nicely done Waterfront shopping complex which is
nearly as large as the steel mill it replaced. Here the GE store looks and
feels like the store I went to in Cuyahoga Falls, OH. It is the only one
with a large number of self-service check out lanes for other than under 12
items. This GE is the "Ohio Giant Eagle". So Bob that's just one little way
to keep life interesting with a little bit of humor.
