Thanks for considering driving up there to verify whether or not they still exist.
 It's not critical that I know this instant. I have a friend and he and I are sometimes
Urban explorers of abandoned facilities. I think I will try and make a trip up there myself

Oh, one other thing.  Google maps is less than 10 years old, started 2005. Says they update maps every three years.
I think they also do the aerials every three years. So they were there in 2011?  Maybe.

I have plans this weekend or I'd consider just driving by Windber and confirming.

Of course, all my likely travel plans over the next month will be west,not east, so I can't even slipstream it into an itinerary.
