[PRCo] trolley accident in Philly

Based on the two pictures, first of all. Secondly my knowledge, from 30+
years of operating them in real-world situations, of the construction of a
bus versus a PCC trolley.

 Remember February, 1976 on the South PATway? Not much remaining of the
left front and side of the bus but hardly any damage to the trolley. Six
killed on the bus. I reduced an auto to one-half its width on Warrington
Avenue while the PCC I was operating sustained a cracked (not broken) glass
in the first leaf of the number-one door and a couple of scratches in the
paint. . An auto came from the far right lane of Grant Street (southbound)
and made a left turn in front of my also southbound trolley at 1st Avenue.
The guy waited until I was even with him then turned in front of the
trolley. I never knew a set of dual headlamps could fly that far up into
the atmosphere with no visible means of propulsion. When the dust settled
the auto was reduced to scrap and the PCC had a paint scratch on the
anticlimber.

Buses, and autos, are tin-can stock compared to the steel on a PCC. It
doesn't take a lot of charts, graphs and baffling double-talk to figure
this out.
