[PRCo] WP 715 at Brownsville--Track Question

This fot, if you can find it after the server hides it, was on eBay but as a negative.  Thought to be possibly a John Stern original?  Seems to be a charter behind the 715.

However, my question is, what was the track leading to the right and when was it discontinued? Perhaps a lead to a freight station?

This is the first I knew of such a track in Brownsville.  I did know that the track originally continued past Union Station for some distance down Market Street, but this switch would not have anything to do with that.

Any thoughts?
