Gary S and list: Yup, Edgewood, was the southern border of Shorewood.

As I was not an 'eastsider', I can't answer your question about a ramp
on the eastside of Oakland Avenue.

However, my memory kicked in with a commentary on the one man 600's.
Transportation to and from each other's field, was accomplished by a
Charter streetcar. A great rivalry existed between High School Football
Teams, Wauwatosa and Shorewood, as they played each other, each Fall
Season. The usual razzing after the game by the winner to the loser,
was common. On one measurable occassion, Shorewood lost. The exhausted
Shorewood team, took out their frustration on the widnows of their
one-man 600 class streetcar, breaking several. As I recall, the
motorman was usually accompanied by a Supervisor on the round trip. The
Special car would layover at the Harwood Terminal.

I suspect that this was the last time that TMER&T ran that Charter, in
either direction. I was in Wauwatosa High School, back then; the early
1940's. We heard about that from our Principal, the next School Day.
Those interschool games were held on Friday nights.

For the record..... Don L.
