I later added some heat-shrink-wrap tubing to the top couple feet of the
whip when that type of tubing became available around that time, easing
my concern of contacting the overheads. I was becoming active as an
engineer (plus chief engineer) in Milwaukee area radio and TV stations
at that time and saw another good use for the tubing other than in
wiring harnesses.
