These photos are dear to me. Including that white post fence along
the tracks. That road is and was highway 100 which now takes six
lanes of Hales Corners.
in MRTHC.JPG I do not remember the white cube building with the
pyramid roof. That must pre-date my arrival in HC (1944) or my memory.
But the house in the right background is definitely part of the
scenery - there were at least three residences on that triangle,
including Senft's Inn, a huge three-story inn for the first night out
of Milwaukee (19th century).
Anyone know how it was that people were always left off on the right
side of the train (see photo) when it would have made more sense to
open the left side and let them access the station side of the
tracks, where there was more room and safety? was there only one
boarding side?
