My 1930 street map shows the line terminating just beyond the Duquesne
incline, at approximately Plymouth Street, thus short of the sharp descent
from Augusta to Shaler.
Now, here is a curiousity: it has long puzzled me that on the 1930 edition of
the city topographic map the line is shown running south on Republic Street
about 1/3 the distance from Rutledge to Greenleaf, with a turnout - nothing
more - to Rutledge Street.
If this indicates partial completion of the extension, then 1930 is a trifle
early to be accommodating PCCs.
