Mister Palmer lived quite a distance south of Clearview loop. I know
because I used to walk from Mayfair Drive to the loop. But I think the
company believed the newest and nicest cars had to be used in the most
affluent areas where mass transit was most vulnerable to private auto
usage. And as Fred S. pointed out, Mr. Palmer didn't get his hands on
the helm until 1950.
I wonder how many current day transit management types use mass transit
to go to work? :-) Ken J.
