South Hills Junction-38 car assignments

Don't underestimate Palmer's clout. The Commercial Manager is equivalent to
today's Executive Vice President, or even President, now that everyone wants
to be called a "CEO." The top, top spots in utility company hierarchy went
to corporate types, so they "don't count" in day-to-day operational matters.
Fitzgerald and Palmer ran the place.

But C D Palmer wasn't the top brass in the period when the new PCCs or
newly converted high speed cars were put out in Mount Lebanon! Palmer
was promoted from Commercial Manager to the #1 slot when Fitzgerald
retired about 1950.

I mentioned I have read and heard that. I do not know if it is true.

C.D. Palmer lived about three houses away from my uncle in Mt. Lebanon.
My uncle lived on Mayfair Drive, south of the loop on Washington Road. I
am not sure if Mr. Palmer's residence was on Mayfair or the street
intersecting it near my uncle's house. Ken J.
