Greetings!
Included in the 1984 ERA *Headlights* article by Bill is his own photo
of 4919 signed 42 DORMONT inbound on top of the switch that loops the
admin building.
From the looks of the photo, I would say that it is *about* 45 feet
from the switch point to the frog. Once through the point on the turn,
the track is tangent to a point just several feet short of the frog.
This shallow angle prevents the overhang of the rear of the car from
fouling the right-of-way for the opposite track. Regardless, most
properties had rules preventing opposing movements of cars when one was
passing through a switch point!
