Clearview Loop

Greetings!

In the ERA *Headlights* article by Bill is another photo on page 16 of
Clearview loop showing the rear of car 1203 as it is entering the loop
after just crossing the inbound track.
Sitting on the tangent toward Castle Shannon is 4315, the local
*transfer / shuttle* to Castle Shannon.
Note that both poles on 4315 are up and that the far end pole is on a
different wire which terminates at the span in front of the pole on the
near end of the car. Must have been gauntlet (gantlet?) trolley wire in
this section as well. I wonder if the loop wires connected to the
inbound gantlet wire?
After the shuttle was discontinued this must have been restrung with
single wire for the loop wires did connect with the wire to Castle
Shannon in the 50s. Both of the frogs were spring-returned directional
frogs - the one coming off the loop onto the single track was set to
take poles to Castle Shannon and the one coming off the single track to
return to double track inbound was set for that turnout.
