Hi Gang,
F-9 had archbar trucks with what appears to be large 33" wheels. F-9 was
born at P.R.Co.,1918 and vanished from the the South Hills Carhouse
yards around 1948/4 from my recollections as a youngster at the time.
William Nixon's Photo Collection has a nice photo of F-9 standing
outside Exposition Hall, which was located at the Point, downtown
Pittsburgh at the base of the ramp that led to and from the Manchester
Bridge.
F-9's signage on the side of the car reads:
Pittsburgh Railways Company
Freight Service
Store Door Delivery
My Father had told me he remembered seeing these freight cars running
between Pittsburgh and Butler when he was a young man.
