You're correct, Matt. North starts at the little park pavilion at the
intersection of Grant and North where Mellon Bank (was) located, (Moletz
Electric now), and goes on out until it becomes Babcock Blvd.at te
Bauerstown line.
Also, the existing track located on Chestnut Street running from Phineas
over four short blocks to Spring Garden, is pretty much intact never
having been paved up to, or over. A fair size remnant for anyone who
feels the need for a shot of instant nostalgia.
The short section of track by the old Buhl Planetarium and Pittsburgh
Historical Landmarks Society building is on a segment of what was
originally East Ohio Street.
Wouldn't it be nice to see the Historical Society arrange to display a
PCC there like the one displayed at the Heinz Museum. No doubt this had
crossed their minds, but the threat of graffiti art and vandalism no
doubt put a shroud on that proposal.
Hope you techno people have been able to endure these nostalgic
ramblings.
