Hmmmm. A question that would require too much time to research, and is
probably lost to ages anyway: Why did PRC spend money to double track to
Lanks in the first place??? After all, single track was ok for Washington
line service.

I recall a "Mine 3" stop near Washington Jct. Were there other mines along
Library line??? Were there several "mining patches" along Charleroi line in
Allegheny County and PRC double-end cars was how miners got to the mines???
Could it be that in very early years (1910-1930), was PRC running some
double enders on parts of Charleroi line for miners (to get to new mines as
older ones were "mined out"), with 3600/3700 intended for through riders???
And would these "miners trippers" have operated out of Castle Shannon Car
House???? (for that matter, just what, if anything, did operated out of
Castle Shannon???) And that is why there is a Finleyville sign????

To look at differently something Fred S. and/or Jim H. mentioned previously,
maybe Finleyville sign was not included on 3800 cars as a destination that
PRC could run, but maybe it was included as a destination on this division
that PRC had previously run?

This path is just a wild GUESS, with emphasis on GUESS. And I would not be
surprised if Ed's answer is that I need to spend some time in the archives.
