Greetings!
I see *37 Shannon* two from the top and *Shannon* just below
*Finleyville!* Is one of these in Ireland?
Another source indicates 22-destinations on the roll sign for 3812
(same number as listed below) with "Washington & Charleroi local lines,
37 Shannon, Castle Shannon-MtLebanon shuttle, *Monongahela* insert for
*Mon City.*"
So there is at least one destination that is different - using a big
interurban for the shuttle from Clearview to Shannon!!
Still seems more logical to use the sign for the turnaround.
San Francisco carries the latter to an extreme. PCCs that used to pull
out for the J & N lines would put up *X-11th Street* even though we were
not allowed to carry passengers there! The last passenger gets off at
Van Ness and the tail end of the PCC is still in the farside crosswalk
when setting the switch to turn into 11th! Why not just say Van Ness.
And outbound short-turn 1-California TCs carry *Steiner* because that
is the furthest point the coach travels - but only because it uses
Steiner to loop. *Fillmore* is much more logical sign to display
because it is a much more well known street. But SF Muni is legally
correct; guess it gives someone something to do!

I own a 3800 side sign box with curtain attached. It reads as follows:
Shannon-Mt. Lebanon
37 Shannon
Donora
Riverview
Roscoe
Eldora Park
Monongahela
Library
Arnold
Charleroi
Pittsburgh
Washington
Finleyville
Shannon
Canonsburg
Court House
1 Jefferson & Maiden
4 East & West
5 N. Washington
Fair Grounds
Special
Car House
3800s couldn't turn at a lot of these points, but they certainly could
haul
passengers to them. The sign was for the benefit of the user, not the
operator, so a sign didn't necessarily denote a turnback at any given
place.
But it might have referred to a popular destination, instead.
