I am remembering when they switched 40 Mt. Washington to BUS.   The route
was essentially the same on the hill, they did take advantage of rubber
tires and covered a little more of the back streets.  But they (PAT?)
established a different route downtown - I think it went down the Blvd. Of
the Allies to Stanwix, looped and went right back.  Well the screaming
started and everyone threatened to pack those busses every trip and force
PAT to provide good service; PAT relented and returned to the same old route
down Smithfield and back out Grant.  Why?  Because we always did it that
way. . .

I also remember that our house took on an unpleasant odor around that time,
luckily I had moved out by then.
