Make that 225 low floor trailers, Fred. There was also a series
A375-A424 of non-motorized trailers.
Dimensions of all trailers in the A-series group were identical as to
the 45'-0" length you mentioned, with a "rail to trolley board" height
of 10'-7". The seating capacity was 58 to 60, and identical throughout
the series. The weight for each of the A200-299 series* cars was 22,300
lbs.The A300-424 trailers weighed in at 22,000 lbs.per car.
*Nos. A217-242 were motorized with contactor control.increasing the
weight to 33,000 lbs. for each of those cars.
Trailers:
200-249 (double-end steel cars) were built by Standard Steel Car Company
circa1910.
250-299 (double-end steel cars) also by SSCC, 1913.
300-374 (single-end steel cars) built by St. Louis Car Company, 1916.
375-424 (single-end steel cars) built by St. Louis Car Company, 1918
Just thought the troops would enjoy a little dessert to top off the fine
meal you served with your posting on the low floor stuff.
