No need to apologize to me - that extra pole can always be removed.

Just the opposite is probably true. When Muni sent its own double end
torpedoes back to MK for rebuilding, they were found to be in better
shape than the Philly cars prior to overhaul by MK. The Philly cars had
received an extensive in house rehab by Philly while the SF torpedoes
were fixed only when they broke.
While it may be fun to speculate on possibilities, anything is possible
- wide-bodied or slim-fast cars! But that depends on whether or not
they will have to share trackage with the lrvs or be a system unto
themselves. But I think it would be possible to even run the cars on
the lrv system as far as clearances, wide or standard cars.
Again, speculating is nice but if the idea is sound, then let's
organize and proceed. The alternate route proposal sounds very sound
but remember the old phrase - don't put all the eggs in one basket.
Don't cater solely to tourists - make the line something that is
appealing to the locals on a day-to-day basis. Maybe two lines thru
routed on Carson with a downtown loop to get locals to jobs and pick
tourists up at the hotels. Go east and west on Carson and also have it
through routed!
