Greetings!
This photo http://davesrailpix.railfan.net/pitts/htm/wvp55.htm
shows 1546 on the far right side. Also interesting to note is that the
14s-16s had skirting for a couple inches below the anticlimber which
wrapped behind the tow-bar-pin. Apparently this skirting is already cut
away on 1546. Apparently from delivery until just before the arrival of
the 17s is the only time that South Hills had 15s assigned there until
the carbarn closures of the early 60s. South Hills was apparently
assigned the 1547-2 with the original going to Minneapolis. And if this
photo is 1946 as Bill indicates then so is this one
http://davesrailpix.railfan.net/pitts/htm/wvp30.htm and this one, too
http://davesrailpix.railfan.net/pitts/htm/wvp29.htm. And it is very
close to Labor Day Weekend as that low-floor car with a temp sign in the
destination box and on the front dash is a County Fair Tripper!
Bill lists this photo
http://davesrailpix.railfan.net/pitts/htm/wvp45.htm as 1946 and it is
obvious from this one that it is near Labor Day as well. What about
that 16 in the lower right corner? That is either 1613 or 1614 - note
the placement of the retriever which is one of the old-time ones, like
Ohio Brass, as opposed to the Earll retriever which these cars later
received. The other 16s were not converted to interurbans until a year
or two later.
