Greetings!

	Gleanings From *Trolley Fare*
		January--1964

"Meanwhile maintenance and cleanliness of PAT vehicles seems to have
reached a new Low. Streetcars have been rattling about with seemingly
every mechanical piece loose, in particular car 1777 should be cited,
for the loud noises suggesting very slack brake rigging. The Port
Authority must be congratulated for this, particularly as 1777 is an all
electric car and has not wheel brakes!! PAT cannot really be blamed for
all these troubles, it has obsolete equipment, obsolete facilities and
workers whose 'esprit de corps' is surely zero."

I remember experiencing exactly the same - listening to a 17 clatter
thru special work sounding like a 10 or 11 - what on earth is rattling
on a 17?
